The New Tornos Delta: Built to Cost-Effectively Machine Parts with Simple Geometries

To compete today, even manufacturers and producers of the most sophistricated turned parts are finding a need for perfect simple parts. To answer customer requests for such a machine, Tornos has developed the new Delta product line – dedicated to cost-effectively machining parts with simple geometries.
Though created for parts with simple geometries, the Delta line is true Tornos quality – with a cast iron base, large capacity chip pan, and wide working area. The Delta can be customized to work with or without a guide bush and utilize rotating tools.
The Delta is available with four or five axes, for parts up to 0.78 inches (20 mm) in diameter and 8 1/4 inches (210 mm) long. Options and accessories include: c-axes, high pressure pumps, work conveyors, and mist collectors.
Tornos has a long history of making machines that produce the highest quality turned parts of medium to extreme complexity. With 50-year build quality and a solid reputation for Swiss precision and reliability, Tornos Swiss turning centers attract manufacturers and producers who appreciate a solidly built machine backed by a solid service team. Tornos customers will be happy to learn that the new Delta range diverges from its predecessors only in the type of parts it produces. The Delta has an entry-level price, but is supported with first-class Tornos service.
To learn more about the new Delta from Tornos, please go to www.tornos.us today or see the Delta in the Tornos booth at Westec 09 — booth #2510.  Also being demonstrated in the Tornos Westec booth will be the Sigma 20 and Esco by Tornos D2.  In addition, visitors can see 3D virtual tour movies of the Tornos machines at the show.  The 3D tours include a photo-realistic animation of a medical screw being machined on a Tornos – from start to finish. The virtual show provides excellent visibility of both the components inside Tornos machines, as well as the machining processes themselves – with no chips or oil to get in the way.
